When A Knight Won His Spurs - intermediate/advanced guitar solo

A traditional English folksong known originally as 'Sweet Europe'. The tune was notated in 1905; around twenty five years later, Joyce Anstruther added hymn words ('When a knight won his spurs in the stories of old, he was gentle and brave, he was gallant and bold' etc). This lovely tune lends itself very well to DADGAD tuning.

Molly McAlpin - intermediate harp solo

This lovely Irish tune is sometimes called 'Carolan's Dream,' because it was a favourite of the harper Turlough O'Carolan. The tune was actually written by another harper called Thomas O'Connellan, who was born around 1640. It lends itself beautifully to a slow tempo, arpeggiated chords and ethereal harmonics.

This Irish jig originates from Castlecomer in Kilkenny, Leinster, Ireland. Also known as The Humours of Castle Comer, the tune appears in notated music collections from 1870 onwards.
